17 Years of Literacy Leadership

Continuing Our Legacy Partnership with the US Department of Education

We have some exciting news to share! Recently, Learning Ovations was awarded a 2 year grant from the Institute of Education Sciences for our continued research and practice, marking 17 years of continued partnership between A2i and the U.S. Department of Education.

This collaboration began in 2004 with our founding researcher, Dr. Carol Connor, who capitalized on this opportunity to dive into her ground-breaking work: developing A2i and thoughtfully crafting a literacy model that identifies and supports the learning needs of every individual student. Across two decades Dr. Connor and Learning Ovations have been developing her research alongside the Department of Education, whose assistance has been invaluable along our journey to reaching grade level reading for every student, regardless of their background or economic status.

Our most recent grant has been awarded to promote and continue our innovative research. We are proud of our team’s hard work and even more excited to share the benefits of this continued partnership with schools across the nation, in hopes of transforming literacy instruction and blazing new paths for how we teach our students to read.

From Carol Connor’s first grant to where we are today, our goal has never changed:
